In Praise of Shadows

An acrobatic tribute to the grandeur of Nordic nature, as well as to the shadows within us.

Razor-sharp acrobatics and intricate balancing acts unfold in a stage design evoking Nordic glaciers, northern lights, mountains, and lakes. Haute couture meets melancholy and unexpected humor in a portrayal of human´s inner struggles and the power of nature. Seven acrobats in constant motion are accompanied by newly composed folk music with electronic club beats, performed live on stage. A celebration of nature, the human, and imperfection.

About the company

Below Zero is a Swedish circus company whose artistic expression is shaped by the Nordic climate. The cold allows warmth and human connection to emerge. The name Below Zero refers to the artists’ ability to defy gravity, flying almost like falling snowflakes. Based in Stockholm, Below Zero tours both nationally and internationally.
