Baby Bubble – Or how I almost disappeard
Aino Ihanainen
An intimate and autobiographical performance about motherhood, postpartum depression, and the longing for water.
When a child is born, a mother is born too. Amid the dual emotions of the baby bubble – the greatest love and the deepest fear – Aino Ihanainen explores the feeling that the body and identity no longer fit together. A time when one is both happier and sadder than ever before.
Water becomes an obsession: a dark river tempting surrender, yet also a safe lake that holds and supports. Perhaps the body remembers evolution, perhaps even a mother longs to be held.
ARTIST CONVERSATION! After the performance the audience is welcomed to an artist conversation with the organisation Mamma till mamma.
At CirkusMania the performance is a work in progress presentation, which means that it has not yet had its premiere.
